David Morgenroth

David MorgenrothA native Montanan, David Morgenroth is a graduate of Arizona State University, where he was an Arizona Board of Regents scholar. He holds M.M. degrees in piano performance and jazz studies from the University of North Texas, where his principal teachers were Dr. Jack Roberts and Dan Haerle. After freelancing for a year in San Francisco, David spent six years in New York where he performed extensively as a chamber musician and jazz artist and studied classical piano with Sophia Rosoff and jazz with Fred Hersch and Richie Beirach.

David has performed across the United States and Canada as well as in Europe, Africa, Australasia and South America. He has performed with such jazz luminaries as Joe Williams, Freddie Hubbard, Lionel Hampton, Gary Peacock and Jimmy Cobb. In 1998, David released his first CD as a jazz pianist and composer entitled Radiance, featuring Chris Potter on saxophones.

David currently teaches jazz piano, improvisation and small ensemble at The University of Montana and continues to perform nationwide and abroad.
