Mary Jane Belz
Professor Mary Jane Belz is a native of Wessington Springs, South Dakota. She holds degrees from Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD, (BA, Music, 1966), Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, NY, (MA, Music, 1968), and University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, (PhD, Music, 1994).
Her teaching experience includes teaching middle school vocal and general music in Whippany, NJ, and middle school music in Rockville, MD. In addition, she taught at Oberursel, Germany for twenty-five years, with experience at all levels of elementary, middle and high school vocal and general music at the Frankfurt International School. She was also the Director of Children's Choirs in Oberursel, Germany for ten years, and a church organist and choir director in Oberursel for fifteen years.Prior to her appointment at The University of Montana-Missoula, she taught at The University of Minnesota (1990-92).
