Beth Pirrie
A native to Kalispell, Beth has a Master's in music from the University of Montana where she studied under Margaret Schuberg. As an undergraduate, Beth was the winner of the University of Montana Concerto Competition and was the collegiate winner of the Montana Association of Symphony Orchestras (MASO) Young Artist Competition. As a MASO winner she soloed with the Glacier Orchestra and the Billings Symphony. She was also recognized as the Outstanding Senior for the Department of Music. Beth has participated in master classes with Karl Kraber, Richard Hahn, Robert Dick and Jimmy Walker. In addition to playing principal flute in the Glacier Symphony, Beth performs regularly with small chamber groups and coaches the Flathead High School and Glacier High School Flute Choirs. She frequently adjudicates throughout the state of Montana and runs a 30-student private flute studio in Kalispell. She is a member of the National Flute Association and the national (MTNA), state (MSMTA), and local (KAMTA) music teacher’s associations. In addition to her musical life, Beth and her husband, Mark, are busy enjoying their three children Gavin, Gracie, and Ganten.
