Brittany Ann Winberg, soprano, began her voice studies at Idaho State University in 2002 under the tutelage of Dr.Diana Livingston Friedley. In the course of her studies at ISU, her performance credits include not only a successful European tour through Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic with the ISU Chamber Choir, but also as soprano soloist for Three Puerto Rican Songs by Morris Lang with the ISU Percussion Ensemble, Mendelssohn’s O for the Wings of a Dove with the ISU Concert Choir and Chamber Orchestra, Schubert’s Der Hirt auf dem Felsen for ISU Chamber music night, and work as a soprano soloist with the Idaho Civic Symphony for Handel’s Messiah.  She has also appeared in workshop performances as Laurie in Copland’s The Tenderland, Clorinda in Rossini’s La Centerentola, and Nadina in Johann Strauss’ The Chocolate Soldier.

Her other operatic ventures include performances with Opera ISU as Yum Yum in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado, Valencienne in Franz Lehar’s The Merry Widow, and Geraldine in Samuel Barber’s A Hand of Bridge, and as a cover for the role of Peggy Shippen in Julian Livingston’s A Twist of Treason at the Bloomington Performing Arts Center in Indiana.  Her UM stage debut will be this spring as the La Sorella Infermeria in Puccini’s Suor Angelica and more notably as Lauretta in Gianni Schicci. Brittany is currently studying for her master’s degree in music performance and teaching private voice and Voice in Class at the University.
