Jason McDaniel is the Scene Shop Supervisor for the Department of Drama/Dance and serves as Technical Director for most of the department’s season productions. He also works for Montana Repertory Theatre as the Construction Technical Director for the national tour and often for the Montana-based Educational Outreach tour. He served as scenic designer for the Rep’s EO tours of It Just Catches and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, the departmental production of Proof, and Montana Rep Missoula’s production of Endgame. He worked with local company The Candidatos as a scenic designer and technical advisor in 2006. Jason received his MFA from North Carolina School of the Arts in Scenic Automation. During his time there, he worked at Universal Studios Florida as a member of the Technical Services team, as well as for ShowMotion Inc., of Connecticut. At ShowMotion, he worked on the construction of automation equipment for several Broadway shows, including Into the Woods and the Tony Award-winning Thoroughly Modern Millie. Jason spent many years working in Tennessee as both a scenic designer and technical director before moving to Missoula.
