Ezra LeBank is an Assistant Professor of Movement/Acting. Prior to his appointment at UM, he taught at The Juilliard School, SUNY Purchase, Vassar College/Powerhouse Theatre, Smith College, and in several other professional and university settings.

He is artistic director of Lynx Co., a theatre company dedicated to physically and linguistically dynamic social theatre. His work with the company as a playwright, director, and performer includes: {Extinguish.}, Fresh Air, Mixed Metaphors, Making Epsom Salt Dissolve, A Light in the Dark, Roe V. Wade: The Abortion Debate, The History of a Hand, Side Dish: A Vaudeville Show, and Riddle Me This.

As an actor Ezra has performed in New York and around the country in theatre, film and dance with dozens of companies including LaMaMa, E.T.C., Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum, The Talking Band, Hampshire Shakespeare, and New Century Theatre. He is a lead in the new independent film The Manufacturer, currently on the festival circuit.

The recent run of his one-person play {Extinguish.} in downtown New York City was called “a virtuoso performance” by Martin Denton of NY Theatre, who claims that Ezra is “destined to make a mark on the NYC indie theater scene.”

He also enjoys wearing a clown nose from time to time.
